Marble head of Dionysos.
It belonged to the colossal statue of the god that decorated
the large platform of the one of the two choregical
monuments in Dionysion. The figure has female features but
the calm expression on the face and the clarity of the
plastic outlines (it is a statue of compelling beauty) date
it to the second half of the 4th century B.C.
